How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Jack and I met at Mississippi State University as sophomores through mutual friends. We were on and off for about a year until he finally asked me to be his girlfriend before Christmas break of junior year! Since then we've experienced so much together throughout this new season of graduating college, moving to a new city, jobs, more school, and so much more.

How did he propose? : We had been trying to have a dinner with both Jack and my family for a while, and one weekend we had planned on both of our families getting together for a dinner. Jack was very adamant about wanting to go eat late around 7, and I was clueless and not wanting my family to have to travel back home late at night! Little did I know he was trying to wait until sunset. We were getting ready for dinner and his family said they were going to see his grandmother really quick before then meet us there. Then Jack and I got in the car and started leaving his neighborhood. Right before we were going to turn out he turned into the pier area of the neighborhood lake and with a huge smile said lets get out and walk. We then went to the end of the pier where he had roses laid out, and that is where he got down on one knee, and of course I said yes! Then all of our family and some friends were waiting on the other side of the lake to celebrate with us!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : One of my most memorable moment was that the entire week before the wedding it rained, and there was a huge chance of rain for our wedding day. I had mentally prepared myself for it even though I was slightly upset that our pictures may not turn out how I had always imagined them. That morning Masa my photographer made a plan to start our pictures earlier than we had planned to try to miss some rain. Long story short- it barely rained any during the entire time we took pictures before the ceremony and all of our pictures turned out even more amazing that I could ever imagine!
Another moment definitely had to be walking into the church for the first time right before I walked down the aisle with my dad. I was blown away by how many people came to celebrate ma and Jack! It also all became completely real then- we were really doing this!!

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: I wanted everything to be light colored and fresh since we were having a spring wedding. We tried to keep our colors to white, light pink, and touches of gold. Pink has also always been my favorite color, so it wasn't hard to decide to go with that color!

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: The best advice I received was to make a plan with your husband for the reception and to agree to try not to get separated too much. Jack and I love to dance and the band was one of the most important things for us to have- so we wanted to make sure we made an effort to get out there and have a great time with all of our family and friends!

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: I would say to not get too caught up in all of the tiny small details. During our wedding planning I was in my first year of dental school- so I had to make a huge effort to not spend too much time obsessing over things. I realized when it was all over that everything has a way of coming together even if you think it's not going to!

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: I loved it all- but one of my favorite parts was planning my invitations with Fresh Ink. They had so many different options, and helped me come up with the color, design, and font that turned out perfectly. I felt as if our invitations set the tone for our wedding, and I was so excited to send them out to our friends and family!

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I followed Maggie Louise on instagram for quite a while before I got engaged. I loved the fact that it was a smaller store that really tried their hardest to find something special for you. Maggie Louise really went above and beyond for me to help me find exactly what I wanted!

Tell us anything extra you'd like to share about your journey down the aisle + all that lies ahead. : Jack and I still constantly talk about our wedding day and how much fun it was and how thankful we are that so many people came to celebrate us on such a special day! It would not have been possible without the help of many different people who we will forever be grateful for.

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: We met at a Grizzlies game one weeknight in January 2016. I grew up from elementary school with Zach's roommate at the time who asked if a friend and I would like to go to a game with him and his roommate. We hardly even spoke at the game, but after....

How did he propose? : Zach had my best friend in the world come from Savannah, Georgia to set up a bottle of champagne and a note in my house while we were at Andrew Michael for an after work drink. We left the restaurant separately, and when I opened the door of my house, he was waiting there. I asked him what the envelope was for (thinking it might be Broadway musical tickets-long story), and then I realized IT was happening! We let the moment sink in for about an hour before we went to my parents house where my closest friends and family were waiting!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : I know it is everyone's most memorable moment, but the first look with Zach was so special. i had wanted to see him all day, so finally being able to was so special. We had exchanged notes to one another just before making emotions extra high.

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: My family and I have been visiting Watercolor, Florida for vacation for such a long time. It's familiarity and slow pace makes it feel like a home away from home. Both the ceremony and reception were outdoors, so we wanted to let the natural green foliage be the star of the show. We string lights and an open air dancefloor to take advantage of the wonderful spring temps. Our florals all white with hints of tropical greenery to remind everyone that we were on the coast!

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: It actually came from my dad, and it was that no matter what happens at the the end of the day we will be just as married. It helped put things in perspective, especially when fears of rain started to creep in.

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : Maggie Louise seemed like an obvious first visit because everyone who had the Maggie Louise experience highly recommended it. And then when the time came for my turn, it was so easy and wonderful there was no reason to go anywhere else.

Tell us anything extra you'd like to share about your journey down the aisle + all that lies ahead. : Our wedding day was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. It was so great to be surrounded by our closest family and friends in a place we love for the week leading up to it. Having that quality time with everyone was the best way to start our new life together. I am so excited to keep building a life with Zach from the ground up.

sweet Maggie Louise bride Krista married the love of her life on a beautiful day full of classic details + timeless romance. we are so blessed to have played a small role in this special love story helping Krista find her dream dress + accessories here at Maggie Louise! Krista’s stunning Martina Liana gown was the perfect dress to accent her classic southern wedding in Oxford, Mississippi.

Krista + Nick, we wish you all the joy in the world + an amazing future together!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: We actually met in high school and both moved off to Oxford to attend Ole Miss, where we started dating. We chose Oxford, MS as our wedding location because we wanted to take it back where it all started. We went to our first concert together at The Lyric Oxford, so our venue choice was a definite!

How did he propose? : Our proposal story is seriously one of a kind and I relive this day over and over again!

Nick and I visit my Uncle Jojo a few times a year in Atlanta, GA. This trip, as I thought, was just another trip to see my Uncle Jojo and hang out with family all weekend. We woke up Friday to get ready to go out on the boat since it was Memorial weekend. Nick told me a few days earlier he planned a date for us in Atlanta for Friday night, so our day out on the boat would be cut short. We got out on the boat with a late start and only had a few hours on the water before we had to head back to the dock so we could get ready for dinner. My Uncle Jojo was rushing to get back and just kept saying, "We need to get back! They have reservations!" Knowing my Uncle Jojo, he hardly knows where his phone is half of the time to even know what time or day it is. I was thinking wow, Atlanta traffic at night must be way worse than during the day if Uncle Jojo is in this mad rush to get us back.

Nick insists we leave an hour early to get to the restaurant in downtown Atlanta because traffic will be bad. We arrive at the hotel, where the restaurant was on the top floor, and we sit at the bar downstairs. We grab a drink and I wait on Nick as he went to tell the restaurant we are there. Nick takes longer than expected to come back and I'm thinking to myself, what is going on?! I am starving! He finally comes back to tell me they forgot our reservation and they had to work us in. I was again thinking to myself, seriously?! How did they forget our reservation?? Nick seemed calm but also kind of shocked like he too couldn't believe they would forget our reservation. Nick said it would be about 30 more minutes before they have our table ready. I looked at Nick and said, "Let's just go to my favorite taco place up the street. We can have margaritas and tacos and call it a night. I don't really need this fancy dinner anyway. "(Because tacos and margaritas are life) Nick insisted that we stay there to wait on our reservation. Finally, a man dressed in all black comes to get us. He looked pretty important, in my opinion. I was thinking, wow, the managers here really take their job seriously! He had the secret ear buds in his ear, a secret walkie-talkie somewhere, I mean this guy was official. The man dressed in black wouldn't let anyone else get on the elevator with us except these two women that were going to the restaurant too. I didn't think anything of it until Nick said, "They must be going to eat too!"I start looking at the two women and I noticed they were holding CAMERA EQUIPMENT! I instantly almost started crying because I knew at that point I wasn't here for dinner reservations. The elevator doors open to the outside with steps leading up to somewhere. Nick looks at me and said, "Surprise! We are taking a helicopter tour over Atlanta and they are going to take our picture!"As soon as we stepped on the helipad, Nick got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And, of course I said YES! We got in the helicopter and Nick had a GoPro setup in the helicopter where they made a small video clip for us to cherish forever. We had dinner reservations at a completely different restaurant called Sundial. It's a restaurant that takes 60 minutes to rotate around the entire city of Atlanta so you can catch all the good views of the city. Still to this day, I relive that memory over and over again. Nick was beyond thoughtful planning it out and caught me by total surprise!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : By far, our first look! I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life. I seriously cry all over again every time I think about it. We’ve been dating for 6 years and have waited for that very moment for such a long time.

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: I really wanted an all white, classic, timeless and elegant wedding that we could look back on twenty years from now and still think it is classy. It was so important to us for our wedding and every detail to represent who we are as a couple. Nick was actually very involved in the planning and details process of our wedding and it makes it that much more special looking back on our day. He designed and drew out our wedding cake and Laura Jackson from the Flour Garden nailed it!

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: The best advice I received for our big day was to eat privately at our reception and have the caterer fix a to-go plate for when you get back to your hotel after the reception. I really enjoyed having that small amount of private time eating with Nick at our reception. But, having a to-go plate waiting at the hotel for us was seriously a lifesaver. We were starving after the wedding was over!

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER AND DAY OF WEDDING COORDINATOR! I promise you will be thanking yourself by the end of your wedding day!

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I knew I needed the undivided attention that Maggie Louise could give me. I had no idea what style dress I wanted and was so lost when I tried to get ideas online. From the moment my appointment started, I knew I was in the right place. They allowed me to try on every style dress to eliminate my not-so-favorite dresses. I honestly had that moment every bride dreams about when she finds her dress and I truly don't think I would of had that if I wasn't at Maggie Louise. They picked out THE dress that I swear was made for me.

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Mack and I met in 2015. I had just moved back to Memphis and knew no one so I was spending a lot of time with family. I was helping my grandmother at her church's fish fry (We're Catholic, through and through) when I met this lady who would not stop going on and on about her son and how great he was. When I got home that night, I decided I had nothing to lose by looking him up on Facebook and the rest is history. Turns out, my future-mother-in-law was right, her son is great!

How did he propose? : Mack and I planned a trip to the Bahamas in December 2017. He had never been out of the country before, so I took this as an opportunity to play "tour guide". I am 100% a control freak and love planning things, so Mack trusted me to plan our whole trip. He was desperate to go on a cruise, so we booked one for the week after Christmas. Two days before we left, our insurance agent sent me a policy binder for an engagement ring. I forwarded it to Mack, asking if he took out a new policy in my name. He was so calm that I was convinced it was an accident. He even had the agent call me to assure me that he sent it by mistake (which wasn't a total lie!).

The first day of a cruise you have to wait for your bags to be delivered to your room, and Mack was so worried that our bags were taking a long time. I thought it was just because he had never been on a cruise and didn’t know about the time frame, but I later found out it was because the ring was in his suitcase! I was bugging him on the first day, telling him that the excursion I had planned for the next day, a “private” sail boat trip, would have been the perfect time to propose. He said he thought I was onto him at that point, but I was genuinely just being annoying. Once we were on the sail boat, I asked someone else that was with us to take a few pictures of us when Mack disappeared below deck for a long time. When he finally reemerged, he asked to take another picture, which is completely out of character for him, and that's when he got down on one knee! Mack still gives me a hard time for never saying "yes" and just repeating "are you serious?!" and "it's so big" over and over. He essentially let me plan my own proposal, on a sail boat in the middle of the ocean in Nassau, and it was perfect.

The rest of the week was so wonderful because we didn't have cell service so we were able to really enjoy just being engaged between the two of us, before we got into the crazy of celebrating with family and friends. I couldn't have planned it better myself!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : It's so hard to pick ONE! My favorite moment was the dinner that we had set up for ourselves before our entrance to the reception. It was the calmest 30 minutes of the night, where we could just sit, alone, and talk about our ceremony, catch up on what happened earlier in the day and watch as our guests arrived. We were also starving, so it was also wonderful that we had our favorite foods from Babalu in front of us!

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: I am a "plain jane", but my mom describes it as "simple elegance". (Moms always know how to word things nicely.) So, we didn't really have a theme or inspiration. The most important thing to us was that all our family members would be there and that everyone had a good time. We even rented VIP at Raiford's so that the party never had to end. So, if we have to pick one theme, I'd say "FUN".

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: The best advice we received was to enjoy it while it lasts. The day went by so quickly, it was so important to stay in the moment. I woke up at 6:30AM Saturday and went to bed at 5:00AM Sunday and it was the shortest day of my life!

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: There are three things we did that I would highly recommend to anyone getting married:
• Hire a wedding coordinator
• Set aside a meal for you and your husband to eat before your entrance to your reception, or else you won't eat!
• Pack a pair of flat shoes to change into after your ceremony

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I loved the atmosphere of Maggie Louise and how "calm" I felt there. Every person I spoke to who was associated with ML was so kind and genuinely helpful.

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Lee "winked" at me on some 7 years ago and sent me a private message about how winks are not overrated and he wanted to meet me. After a week of texting back and forth while living our busy lives in NYC, Lee and I met for our first date on 10/11/12 at Sofia Wine Bar on East 50th Street in New York City. While I don't necessarily believe in "love at first sight"... I knew immediately when I saw him at the bar with his backpack on and bright smile that he was going to be someone special in my life. We enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar, proceeded to move to a table for appetizers and a bottle of wine, which turned into several hours (and bottles of wine) and laughter and I invited him to meet my friends at a Baylor watch party 2 days later. 2 days after that I met his sister and 6 months later we moved to Memphis, TN together, and the rest is history.

How did he propose? : I'm still in shock that Lee was able to pull off such a perfect secret proposal without me knowing! His sister (my new sister-in-law) invited us to spend a full weekend with them in Texarkana where her and her husband (who is currently stationed there for the marine corp) live since we typically stop in and out on our way from Memphis to Dallas to visit my family for the holidays. We had an incredible day starting with a mimosa brunch, continuing with a day of outdoor festivals, mini-golf, go cart racing and batting cages and leading to an italian dinner (my fav!) at a restaurant called Verona. When we arrived and asked to sit in the bar (I was so EXCITED for a double date with us and his sister and brother-in-law!) the hostess goofed and said we couldn't go into the bar because there was a private party back there. They proceeded to walk in anyway and I walked away adamant about not interrupting a private party. Poor Lee must have been so nervous and had to convince me to come with him to the bar which I eventually did. I looked at the bar and it was empty so I thought "ok at least we will not bother anyone here" and turned to look at this private party when I saw all of my family and friends! I immediately knew he was about to propose but I was so surprised and unable to process the amazing feeling that I was crying and shaking and trying to hug my mom while he was down on one knee. It was the most incredible feeling to be with all my family and friends on the most incredible day of my life. I wish I could bottle up the feeling. He thought of everything! Family and friends drove in from all over and even my NYC besties were propped up on the table on facetime to be a part of our special moment! I'd never been happier (until the wedding day of course!)

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : Impossible to select just one most memorable moment beyond being pronounced husband and wife on our wedding day, but it certainly was the most perfect and magical day of my life. I woke up early at 8am to enjoy breakfast and coffee with my friend on her ocean-view terrace and then spent a few hours alone at the spa to receive treatments (mani/pedi, eyelash extensions and a foot massage my sweet husband gifted me!) and on my way to go meet my maids to get ready, I ran into my mom, brother in law and friends in the swim-up pool bar. I heard people mention a wedding being set up so I walked to the beach to our wedding site and watched another couple get married on the beach where we would soon be getting married in a few short hours (my bride twin who we spent the rest of the week with and plan to attend their ceremony in Paris in June!) I joined my bridesmaids in our butler suite to find them curling their hair and helping each other with their hair and makeup. One of the best parts of the day was laying in my maid of honor's lap with a face and neck mask on and my other maid of honor feeding me bites of her burger through my mask mouth hole haha! Then it was time for my hair and makeup. It was the most calm and happy I've ever felt. Lee and I had a "first look" private moment in our room (no photos, just a brief private last moment before being married) and then my parents walked me down the sandy beach to my handsome love of my life to get married. Dancing barefoot in the sand to EDM love songs while it monsooned around us and we drank champagne and tequila straight from the bottle certainly tops that list.

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: Lee and I both love the beach and love to travel so our inspiration and theme was a tropical paradise which we found in the beautiful caribbean island of St. Lucia where our dream beach wedding came to life! My favorite color is pink and his is blue so we were able to incorporate both colors into our wedding and the fact that he wore a pink shirt, and the groomsmen wore pink boutonniere (and blue pants and sunglasses of course!) was so special and such a dream come true. We danced to our favorite song (Ed Sheeran "Perfect") barefoot with our toes in the sand. It was so magical and perfect.

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: The advice was hard to follow, but I wish I had. "The day is about YOU. Do what makes YOU happy. Don't worry about making others happy." At the end of the day, no matter how much you plan, chances are something will go wrong, and everyone will have opinions, but at the end of the day you are marrying the love of your life and nothing else matters. And trust me, NOTHING else matters. So many things went off course and it was the absolute BEST day of our lives.

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: Don't sweat the small stuff. Pick the bridal party YOU want. Or don't have one. Pick the venue YOU want. It's YOUR wedding, not your mom's or your friends or anyone but YOU, so make all decisions YOU want. If you want 3 Maid of Honors. Do it. I did. And my MOHs were incredible and I don't care if people find it odd. Have a man of honor and let him attend your bachelorette party. Do YOU. You'll be glad you did.

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: Honestly, my favorite part of the wedding planning process was finding my gown at Maggie Louise. My family drove in from Dallas and close friends joined me at a private bridal session where Molly and the ML team treated us like family and even stayed open late to accommodate my family traveling in from out of town. My girls and I enjoyed champagne and cookies while I pranced around in gorgeous gowns and Molly helped me find what is now my favorite thing. There was no pressure and she only showed me gowns within my price range. I felt like we were best friends. I still do. In fact, back to the advice for someone planning a wedding, go to Maggie Louise. It was the best part of my engagement journey and the most relaxing.

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I've always heard amazing things about ML from friends and she happened to have a sale going on shortly after we got engaged. I read nothing but amazing reviews on all sites I searched for reviews on and I filled out an instagram inquiry my friend sent me and Molly promptly called me to schedule our session. She even encouraged me to have my family come in town to join us.

Tell us anything extra you'd like to share about your journey down the aisle + all that lies ahead. : I'm on cloud nine. I feel like we literally had a dream wedding. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my favorite thing! 7 years down, 70 more to go!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: I came to Atlanta as an Au Pair after my undergraduate degree in September 2012. Joseph moved to Atlanta that following January to start a new job in town. He had to travel to Puerto Rico a few times for work and came back to Atlanta from one of his trips on May 3rd 2013. I happened to go out that night to a bar in town, the same bar Joseph was headed to after he arrived from his trip. He just dropped of his suitcase at his apartment, put on a Grizzlies jersey over his button down shirt and came to the bar to watch the Grizzlies game. The bar is a little fancier and you aren´t allowed to just wear a sports jersey, which explains Josephs questionable outfit choice. I saw him walking by and pointed him out to my friend who thought Joseph looked silly in his button down shirt with the jersey on top. Later that night we all played Cornhole against each other and Joseph and I started talking. He told me about his previous trips to Europe and apparently he really liked my German accent.
Since that night in May 2013 there hasn´t been one day that we didn´t talk to each other. We managed the long distance between Germany and America when I had to go back to go to graduate school and we have been inseparable ever since.

How did he propose? : I visited Joseph from Germany in July 2017 and right before I had to go back, he booked us a spontaneous trip to Puerto Rico. This was my first trip down there and I was really excited to go for a few days. We arrived early on Saturday morning and had a great day. After dinner we came back to the room and I wanted to go to sleep since we´ve been up all day, but you could see the beach from our hotel room and Joseph begged me to go down there for one more drink. The beach was beautiful and there was nobody except us. I started playing in the water until Joseph stopped me, gave me the longest hug ever and got down on one knee. It was the most wonderful moment and I will forever treasure it. Joseph later told me that he wanted to propose to me in Puerto Rico, because this was were he came from the night he met me.

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : We had so many wonderful people come to our wedding from Germany and everywhere in America. It was so awesome to hear people speak German and English all night. Our German family and friends tried to teach our American family and friends some German words and vice versa - I loved that so much!

AJEDIT (356 of 387).jpg

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: We tried to include both cultures and traditions into our wedding. Every sign, invitation was in both languages, so everybody would feel included. The most special design inspiration was that there won´t be any more distance between us, so we had a lot of globes and a worldmap as a guest book.

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: Have fun doing it!

annajoseph (40 of 117).jpg

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: Try to be open minded to suggestions and ideas other people might have and don´t think there is just one way or the highway. If plan A doesn´t work out, there is alwas plan B and C.

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: I was in Germany during the whole wedding planning process and just came to the States three weeks before our wedding date. I was in constant contact with my Mother in Law and facetimed her almost daily. We got so much closer during this process and she was a huge help to me.

annajoseph (42 of 117).jpg

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I wanted to buy my gown in Germany, so I could have my mom and my friends there with me. I went to several different stores in Germany and in the Netherlands and felt really overwhelmed. I tried on a lot of gowns and didn´t love any of them. Some of my girlfriends in the States bought their gown at Maggie Louise and kept on telling me to go there, so while I came over to visit Joseph I did. I should have gone straight there and not wasted my time to go to all the other stores.

Tell us anything extra you'd like to share about your journey down the aisle + all that lies ahead. : When Joseph and I got engaged we didn´t know how we wanted our wedding to be like and I didn´t know at all what I wanted my dress to look like. I went to different bridal stores in Germany, the Netherlands and America before I made the best decission and scheduled an appointment with Maggie Louise! For some reason Molly knew what I wanted and she knew what would look good on me without seeing me ever before. Molly made everything so easy, fun and enjoyable and their customer service is just one of a kind. I will forever be so thankful for the whole Maggie Louise team, they took so much of my shoulders!
My wedding dress was more than I could have ever wished for. I felt so pretty and I felt like a new person.
I was able to dance all night in my dress, I climed up all the stairs around the Collierville Square, I had babies on my arm, carried my Au Pair familys children on my back and front, had vans for my bridesmaids in my pockets since it was so hot and peanutbutter crackers for me haha - it was perfect for every situation that day. I don´t know how Molly knew that I am so active and always in action and needed a dress that could do exactly that with me all day. The whole Maggie Louise team is so gifted and I am so thankful for them!

Allie + Brent have a beautiful love story that has truly captured our hearts. Its a classic tale of love, dedication, support, and a Godly focus. From early on, it was clear Allie + Brent’s paths were meant to be connected. A story is told that Allie’s father once attended a prayer meeting lead by a local athlete. Allie’s father so impressed by this young man, he prayed to God that Allie be provided a husband with the character of that young man. The prayer was indeed answered, Brent WAS that young man!

Lizzy married Matt on a dreamy June day! She chose a stunning Martina Liana gown for their special day + it was the perfect match for her handsome groom. Their love knows no bounds + it was so apparent in the way Lizzy + Matt gazed at each other.

Congratulations, Lizzy + Matt!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Love blossoms in Harbortown! We met through mutual college friends at the pool. Having both gone to Tennessee in Knoxville, we had many mutual friends but never met until that day in June 2014. We went on our first date shortly thereafter, and the rest is history!

How did he propose? : We always enjoyed Saturday mornings downtown - by the river, at the farmers market, brunch somewhere. On the one Saturday in June 2016 during which we did not have a wedding, Matt suggested we go for a walk by the river in Harbortown. I was sure that he would not propose during such a busy month, but Matt had other plans. While walking along the river, Matt tapped me on the shoulder and got down on one knee. I was so surprised and couldn't stop crying that I think he had to ask me to say yes.

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : The tremendous love and joy we felt was the most memorable. It is hard to think of one specific memory because the entire day was so special. We felt so blessed by God and by our family and friends on our wedding day, and joy permeated everything we did that day. It was truly a spectacular and fun-filled day.

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: We wanted our wedding to be FUN for our family and friends more than anything. Classic and elegant was important but secondary. We felt like it was important to make it a true celebration because we have had so many people support us throughout our relationship and wanted to celebrate together. We celebrated the Eucharist at our wedding, so we had communion in our service, and then we celebrated at our reception with dancing and fellowship with those we love.

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: Don't be afraid to ask for help. It is such a special time and should be experienced with joy; you should not be stressed! If you are, find someone who you trust and delegate something to them or ask for their opinion on something.

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: Set aside a date before the wedding (a month, six weeks, whenever works for you). Go through the entire weekend and make a list of everything that you have left to do. If you need to find shoes, decide on your exit (sparklers, flower petals, etc.), or something else, going through the entire weekend and thinking through things to remember is important so that you can knock them out and enjoy the end of your engagement and enjoy time with your fiance and not stress about the small details as the day approaches.

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: Spending time with my mom, my best friend, was my favorite part. We decided on everything together, and I could not imagine having done it all without her. The entire planning process was made even better by the graciousness of those whom we encountered along the way, like the team at Maggie Louise and many others who made us feel so loved and supported.

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I had heard wonderful things from friends about Maggie Louise but truly did not know what to expect. The customer service at Maggie Louise is second to none, and getting my gown at Maggie Louise could not have been a better experience. The team at Maggie Louise made my family feel like I was the only bride that they were concerned with each time I went. It's hard to describe other than that it was magic. I was so excited to marry my now husband every step of the way but Maggie Louise was the first place I shopped for a wedding dress, and I was surprisingly really nervous with many things swirling in my head as I hoped to find the perfect dress. The team at ML could not have been kinder, more gracious, or more reassuring as I searched for my dress.

Our MAGGIE LOUISE BRIDE, Mrs. Franklin!

She married the love of her life Cecil in a sweet ceremony at Junior League! Her timeless, classic Martina Liana ballgown was the perfect dress for Sarah + as you can see, showcased her beauty quite perfectly.  Wishing you two the absolute best in this lifetime adventure as husband + wife!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Both Cecil and I grew up in Memphis (actually only lived about a mile from each other) but did not meet until college. We meet through a sorority and fraternity event! After about a year or so of being friends we both realized we would like to maybe try this dating thing out ;) After 4 and a half years of dating Cecil asked me to marry him :) 1 year later I did!

How did he propose? : The University of Memphis holds a special place in both of our hearts. Cecil grew up around Memphis Tiger sports and we meet through the University of Memphis. It would only be right for our proposal to include Memphis as well! So, June of 2016 we were headed to what I thought was dinner with some friends. On the way we decided to drive through Tiger Lane (as we often did just for fun). He told me they were doing some work on the main entrance of the stadium and wanted to check it out before we went to dinner. I, being still so oblivious, got out with him and started making our way towards the front of the stadium. As we approached the front he started talking all sweet and romantic and at that moment it all hit me! The next thing I knew he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I was SO in shock and truly did not see it coming at all. And of course I said YES! After that we continued on to this "dinner" that we were supposed to have. Once we arrived we were greeted by many of our closest family and friends there to celebrate the best day of our lives thus far!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : It is hard to say what the MOST memorable moment was bc the entire day was so wonderful and memorable! There are though 2 moments that really stick out to me...The first was the moment I starting walking down the isle. Cecil and I saw each other before so I felt like some of the pressure was off of me as I waited for the doors at the church to open. But the moment they opened I felt this incredible rush and all I could do was stare straight down that isle at Cecil (and maybe cry a little :) ). It was like no one else was in the room. We had dated for a while and had been engaged for a year but in that moment I all of the sudden saw him in a totally different way than I ever had before. I can't quite describe it but it was such an amazing and memorable moment on our wedding day! The next moment was leaving the reception and our getaway car door shutting. It was in that moment everything was quite, it was just the two of us (plus our driver lol), and I was actually looking at my HUSBAND. The whole weekend was so exciting, crazy, busy, and amazing but for the first time it was just us two. I loved every part of our day and I wouldn't have changed a thing!

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: Cecil and I both LOVE old houses and I especially love walking around the grounds of an old home and admiring pretty flowers, trees etc. There are so many wonderful old homes in Memphis that offer wedding services. I really wanted a place that most people had not been to before. Cecil and I spent alot of time around the university of Memphis and post college we both moved to places right near there. Therefore, the Junior League of Memphis was a house we passed often. I always admired the gorgeous front lawn that you can see coming down Central Avenue (probably one of my favorite streets in Memphis) and how old the house appeared. The day after we got engaged I knew that was where I wanted our reception! It just seemed to fit everything we both liked and not to mention was in the heart of the part of town that we spend our whole relationship. I knew I wanted a "garden" type theme with lots a greenery, hydrangeas, etc. and that is exactly what the junior league offered! It was perfect!

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: "At the end of the day, no matter what, you both will be married". I tried to remind myself of this often throughout our planning process. Not everything went according to plan, I stressed about little things, I even stressed about big things! But at the end of the day none of it mattered bc what was most important was Cecil and I. That was the best advise I received and it not only helped throughout our wedding but it has also help within the first year of marriage!

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: Try not to stress! "At the end of the day, no matter what, you both will be married". The moment to door closes and the two of you are whisked away to your honeymoon all of there little things will have not mattered!

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: Watching our vision come to life! I was always pinning wedding stuff on Pinterest and getting ideas from other weddings I had been to so it was really cool to see this whole vision I created in my head come together.

Our sweet Maggie Louise Bride Amanda married her sweetheart Andrew this past May in Birmingham, Alabama + she couldn’t have looked more beautiful in her Paloma Blanca ballgown filling our hearts with joy here at Maggie Louise! We are thrilled to share a little peek at this sweet couple’s special day. Here in her own words Amanda tells the story of her love and special day. Enjoy!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Andrew and I met while we were both students at the University of Alabama at a local bar in Tuscaloosa called The Bear Trap through some mutual friends in August 2014. We kept seeing each other throughout that fall semester going fraternity/sorority parties and going on dinner dates. As Christmas got closer, I knew we would have to end things since he was graduating and planned to move to San Francisco for work after graduation. About a week before finals, he let me know that his office asked him to relocate to Birmingham, AL. In January of 2015, we officially began dating and have been together ever since!

How did he propose? : Andrew was very sneaky and cool about the whole plan. Normally I can find out about surprises but not this one! In November of 2016, we planned a dinner for our families in Birmingham. Both of our families would be in town for the Alabama vs Mississippi State game (being that his dad is a huge State fan) and our families have multiple birthdays in the month of November. As we walked up to The Club for dinner (birthday cake in hand) I could see our families outside on the balcony looking at the view of downtown Birmingham. Before I knew what was happening, Andrew was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I'm still not sure I actually said yes I just squealed and nodded my head. It was such a special night made even more special by Andrew surprising me and having both of our best friends there too. We had dinner and drinks to celebrate our families becoming one big family. It was one of the best nights of my life!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : The most memorable moment about our wedding day was by far our first look. For weeks before the wedding, I joked with Andrew that he better cry when he saw me or I would turn around. I had never seen Andrew cry at all and he's not a super emotional guy. So when it came time for our first look, of course I was crying before I walked out to the courtyard. As soon as Andrew turned around, I saw the biggest smiles and the sweetest most genuine tears of happiness roll down his face, which of course made me cry more. It was such a sweet and intimate moment that I will remember for the rest of my life.

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: We wanted our day to be very classic - a true representation of us. We had all white flowers and lots of silver and glass. The guys wore classic Vera Wang black and white tuxes and my girls wore stunning grey formfitting dresses.

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: Not everything is going to go to plan on your wedding day which as a Type A personality, was devastating to hear. It doesn't matter how perfectly planned everything is, something is bound to go wrong. But the important part is to remember why you are there and that you are starting the rest of your life with your best friend.

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: BE PRESENT. It is so, so easy to get caught up in planning and colors and flowers and guest lists. Slow down. Breathe. Enjoy this time of life you are in. It truly does go so quickly. Make sure to have normal conversations with your fiancé and not just make every day about wedding planning. It will be over before you know it!

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: Wedding dress shopping by far!

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : I knew that I wanted to go to Maggie Louise since wayyyy before I was engaged. The shop is 2 minutes away from my childhood home and I knew of multiple girls who found their dream gown at Maggie Louise! As soon as I got engaged, I made an appointment "just to look" (yeah right). I thought the process would be so much more complicated being a person who typically has trouble making decisions. Carolyn and Molly made choosing my dress the easiest part of the while planning process. My dream dress was something no one thought I would end up in, but when I put it on I truly had that "holy moly I'm a bride" moment. The girls at Maggie Louise made every part of the process from the first appointment to dress pick up unbelievably simple and comfortable. I'm forever thankful for Maggie Louise!

Tell us anything extra you'd like to share about your journey down the aisle + all that lies ahead. : Andrew and I are planning to buy our first house together in Birmingham soon! We have been almost nonstop traveling since our honeymoon and are planning even more trips for 2019!

Lovely Maggie Louise Bride Sarah married her sweetheart Beck this past April + it was a stunning day that makes us all swoon here at Maggie Louise! She stunned in her Anne Barge bridal gown and veil. We couldn’t be happier for this sweet couple!

No one can tell a love story like the one ones in love, so take a peek at their magical day + read what Sarah has to say about their magical day...

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.: Beck and I met online; though, he likes to tell people we met in the grocery store or at church! ;) We first laid eyes on each other at Hog & Hominy and had the best first date we can both remember. I was instantly drawn to Beck because our conversation was so easy, and he had me laughing non stop. We closed the place down and have been inseparable ever since. Beck is the most kind person I have ever met and was so easy to fall in love with. He loves me better than anyone.

How did he propose? : In August of 2016, we spent a week out in California. We had planned the trip for months, with the highlight (or so I thought) being seeing Adele in LA. The plan was to leave LA and spend two days driving along the Pacific Coast to San Francisco. At the end of our first day of driving, which also happened to be my birthday, Beck took me to dinner at a small but delicious Italian restaurant in a tiny beach town called Cayucos. After dinner, Beck started telling me how much he loved me and how thankful he was to have me in his life. I thought this was a "it's your birthday / I love you" speech, but at the end, he asked me to marry him. I was COMPLETELY shocked, and truly didn't see it coming until he pulled the most beautiful ring I've ever seen out of his pocket. I remember screaming and asking if he was serious - I was just in such disbelief. I knew we would get married, but I thought traveling with a ring would be WAY too stressful, so I didn't expect it to happen while we were out of town! I'm such a planner, and still can't believe he pulled this off without me having the slightest clue. We spent the rest of the night taking pictures and calling our families and closest friends. I remember it like it was yesterday!

The next day, we drove the rest of the way to San Francisco, through beautiful Big Sur, and I remember feeling happier than I've ever felt in my life. I was so excited to be engaged to Beck, we were surrounded by the most incredible scenery (GO to Big Sur if you haven't been!) and I was living in sheer bliss and joy of what had just happened. I don't think I stopped smiling for the rest of the trip.

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? : I remember when the doors opened and I started my walk down the aisle, seeing Beck, and being totally overwhelmed with emotion. My groom - who I waited forever for - was at the end of the aisle. My dad walking me down the aisle. And surrounding me were the people I love most in this life. It was incredible. I literally had to take deep breaths because I saw so overcome! It was joy and thankfulness and relief and excitement all bundled together. Like nothing I have experienced before.

What was the design inspiration or theme for your wedding? Why was this special to you as a couple?: Unlike most other brides, I never had a vision of my perfect wedding day. So, I was open to consider anything! Our venue, Teton Trek at the zoo, ended up being really special because Beck and I both love the outdoors, and he actually lived in Jackson Hole after school. It was the perfect mix of elegant and rustic, just like us.

Best advice you received while planning for marriage or your big day.: Beck and I did marriage counseling to help prepare for our marriage. I would highly encourage engaged couples do the same. We met with a couple at our church and had six sessions where we discussed all the "hot topics" of marriage. This helped us prepare for some of the situations we'd encounter in marriage, but also got us excited about our life as a married couple.

The best advice I received as a bride was to let other people help me (which is HARD for me because I'm such a planner!). I had several people willing to step in and help - my mom, my sisters, a few of my best girlfriends - and Beck was also there every step of the way. There are so many small, minute tasks and details, and having people take those off my plate was such a relief. Our biggest help was Amy Tyler, our wedding planner. She was absolutely incredible, and I cannot recommend her enough. My parents and I could really enjoy the wedding planning process because Amy was on our team.

What advice would you give to someone currently planning his or her wedding?: Besides hiring every single one of our vendors!?! ENJOY the wedding week and wedding day. Try not to stress, and realize that once your wedding day arrives, nothing can stop you and your groom from having literally the best day of your lives! Once our wedding week arrived, I was so chill. I even surprised myself! But, I truly soaked in every moment, enjoyed being with all our guests and especially enjoyed the sweet time with Beck. Things didn't go 100% as planned on our day, but it truly did not matter.

Favorite part of the wedding planning process?: Our "wedding squad!" Beck, my parents and I all agree that we had THE BEST wedding team. Everyone was actively involved (vs. just being order takers) and sincerely wanted me and Beck to have the most incredible day. People were open to others' ideas, even if it wasn't their area of expertise. The team could not have gelled more perfectly! We really missed working with them once our wedding day was over.

What made you choose Maggie Louise when searching for your gown? : For me, finding my gown at Maggie Louise was a no brainer. I had heard countless rave reviews for Molly and her staff. I also know that Molly has exquisite taste in design, so was confident that not only would she have a large selection of beautiful gowns, but that I'd find something perfect for me. Also, as a native Memphian, I am so proud that we are the home of Maggie Louise, a well-known destination for brides! My experience at Maggie Louise did not disappoint... it was absolutely incredible, I felt like a queen, my family had the best time, and I walked out with a STUNNER dress.

Tell us anything extra you'd like to share about your journey down the aisle + all that lies ahead. : Our wedding day was - hands down - the best day of our lives. I flip through my wedding photos all. the. time. and I always get choked up because it brings back the best memories that I have (and also because I'm sad I can't relive that day!). As we approach our 1-year anniversary on April 22, I am SO excited for all the years that lie ahead. Beck is immeasurably more than I could ever ask for, and I'm so thankful that we'll share the rest of our days with each other!

Our darling bride, Megan, who now wears the title of wife + will forever hold the title of a dear friend in our lives. She married Mr. Jenkins in the sweetest ceremony filled with handwritten nuptials + the happiest of tears. And they celebrated their new union at the home of her parents, who have raised three incredible women, two of which we have had the honor of dressing for their most special day. As you can see from the letter below + the images that tell their story below, Megan has a heart of gold + the most sincere, thoughtful way of expressing it to others. But what you will also see towards the end is just how fun this beautiful couple is!! Take a look at Megan's special day + all that she so graciously shared about her journey becoming a wife.

Molly and Carolyn-
Where do I begin? I cannot believe it has been one year since my journey began with Maggie Louise. Since the day I walked in your doors leading up to my wedding day, your team has been right there with me. Your thoughtful emails, handwritten letters and regular check ins meant more to me than you will ever know. Picking a wedding dress is no easy task, but you both gave me the confidence and reassurance to know that I found 'the one'. I never once thought twice about or questioned my decision...which gave me such peace!
I have enclosed a few photos from October 28th that I have been ITCHING to share with you. Walking down the aisle with my Dad towards Will was truly the happiest moment of my life. Seeing the look (and tears) on his face when the chapel doors opened was something I envisioned since the day I met him and will hold so close to my heart forever.
As I stood at the altar I couldn't help to look around at all the family and friends surrounding us with their love and support with such a full heart... and I thought of you! With three other Maggie Louise Brides standing with me and understanding the meaning/ experience behind the dress I wore made the experience even more special. The ML impression is a lasting one and I thank you for letting me experience it!
Wishing you all the best this holiday season and I know our paths will cross again!
Megan Jenkins

Megan + her sister Ashley, who was also a Maggie Louise bride. Both of these beautiful women wore a Rita Vinieris wedding gown down the aisle. We love how different their looks were, but both of their choices embodied who they are + both chose a timeless bridal look that will stand the test of time.

THE PROPOSAL :  Will proposed to me one normal Saturday afternoon at home when i least suspected it. it was such a sweet, simple surprise I will always smile looking back on.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING VENUES : Given we both were born and raised in Tennessee, we knew we wanted the special weekend to be close to home. We chose to be married in the church where I was both baptized and confirmed, Christ United Methodist . The reception took place in the front yard of my childhood home where my parents still live... But there was one big problem- a large tree that sat in the center of where we envisioned the tent. Will was tasked with taking a chainsaw out a few months prior to October 28th to chop it down. It made the day that much more special...and was pretty funny to watch.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST LOOK? Will and I decided from the beginning we would not have a 'first look'. Although it had us pressed for time and sunlight, this was actually my favorite decision made in the process. We both loved the added excitement and emotion that came along with our first look being as the church doors opened. I honestly didn't see one other person than Will in the church as my Dad walked me down. I was so excited to see him.

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE IN THE PLANNING PROCESS : Take chances in your planning, do something weird and outside of the box! As long as you stay true to your style and personality you will be so happy you went with that off the wall idea you once thought you could never pull off!

BEST ADVICE YOU RECEIVED WHILE PLANNING YOUR BIG DAY? Write your thank you notes immediately.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT : I can't chose just one! The most meaningful part of our wedding, to me, was exchanging the vows we wrote to one another. We have them printed off at home as a reminder to chose one another every day. The most fun and hilarious part was surprising our guests with a late night disco starting with a costume change of me and Will and a soul train entrance to hang the disco/ get the party started. Another unforgettable part was the surprise gospel choir who snuck in the back of the church as we exited. If you can't tell...I love surprises.

Chelsea + Andrew tied the knot in New Orleans in September 2017 + it was a fairytale affair that makes us all swoon here at Maggie Louise! She was a vision in her custom Monique Lhuillier bridal gown, which was hand beaded by our incredible seamstress. Chelsea's bridal look was one for the books + embodied who she is as a woman beautifully.

No one can tell a love story like the one who has lived it, so take a look at their magical day + read what Chelsea has to say about their journey down the aisle ...

HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN? Our love story began like so many others, St. Patrick's Day of 2014 ... a girl in a green wig asking a man for his number. Some may say that it was the green beer that convinced Andrew to give me his number, but we all know that it was really the wig that did him in! After months of dating and meeting all of the friends, Andrew FINALLY got on the same page as Chelsea and realized that this could really be "the one". Our anniversary is Labor Day , making the month of September a very special one for us!

THE PROPOSAL :  Traveling the world together is something that has really set the stage for us as a couple. We love experiencing life together and try not to sweat the small stuff — So, it is no surprise that Andrew decided to propose on one of their vacations in Positano, Italy. It is true what they say ... Italy is the country of Romance! I thought we were just going to be drinking wine, eating cheese, and staring into each other's eyes for 10 days straight, but little did I know that Andrew had been lying through his teeth for the past 2 months and had endlessly researched rings, asked my dad for her hand in marriage (along with my younger brother Trey, let the waterworks begin), and flew to New York to pick out the perfect rock. Andrew, being a closet-romantic, planned the entire proposal and even had a couple to film and photograph the whole thing from our balcony with the Positano night in the background. The already perfect vacation took a slight turn and ended up being an engagement celebration, trust with still plenty of wine and cheese, that neither of us will ever forget.

WHAT LED YOU TO MAGGIE LOUISE : What DIDN'T make me want to choose Maggie Louise? I mean, everything I read online and heard through friends was absolutely true. The awards and accolades that the boutique has received are so well-deserved and I wanted to be a part of that. I knew that they would listen to me and prioritize how I wanted to look and feel on my wedding day. The dresses that ML offers are beautiful and unique and you get that' special moment' without having to fly across the world to find it!

MOST MEMORABLE WEDDING DAY MOMENT : Our first look!! Instead of doing the traditional, secluded first look moment, we hit the streets and did it in front of 5 bars, multiple bystanders, all of our wedding party... and to our surprise... a Harrah's parade! So, why was this the most memorable moment? Well, the obvious being that it was our first time to see each other, which was emotional and everything we thought it would be. BUT the moment I started to walk towards Andrew's back, the parade band started to play traditional New Orleans music. It was worthy of all of the goose-bumps!

HOW DID Y'ALL PICK NEW ORLEANS? As you've read, we love to travel! We knew we didn't want to do a wedding in our home city of Memphis, though we love it endlessly. Chelsea was on a flight and started up a conversation with the man next to her about a destination wedding that was still accessible to friends and family. This man, a part of the NYC symphony, had so much to say about the music, food and culture of New Orleans that sounded exactly like the kind of place we wanted to have our wedding.

We started researching that very same weekend + Andrew actually found the venue on Instagram! It's beautiful plantation grounds and the extensive list of items included on the big day, made Southern Oaks Plantation the obvious choice for an out-of-town wedding. I wanted the day to be stress-free and all about Andrew and I. I didn't want to fuss with some of the small stuff, I wanted the experts to handle what they are good at, and OMG did they out-do themselves! Horse and carriage, fireworks, personal attendants, the works!

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT IN MARRIAGE? Having 'my person' for the rest of my life. There is something so comforting and peaceful knowing that you are so loved by someone. I see all of the possibilities of our future when I look at Andrew. He brings me such joy, comforts me when I'm sad, makes me laugh until I cry, encourages me to be a better person, and makes me feel like a million bucks every single day.

FIRST DANCE SONG : Our first dance was to Roy Orbison, "You Got It", it is such a sweet song. We wanted to dance so also needed a song that was up-beat! Andrew found this song and sent it to me while I was on a business trip. I put it over the car speaker for the first time while I was driving and had to pull over because I was crying so hard! It showed me that this is what Andrew thought about when he thought of our relationship. He said he wanted it as our first dance song, and I had to say yes.
